Student Voice Leading the Way at CMS
While many may be counting down the days until summer, CMS students are already looking ahead and preparing for the 2026–27 school year with ASB elections. It has been truly delightful to watch our students use their voices, step into leadership, and prepare to serve our school community.

This week, we had the opportunity to sit in and listen to practice speeches for our upcoming Election Assembly on May 1. We were struck not only by the confidence of our students but also by the heart, purpose, and care behind their words.
Here are just a few powerful quotes taken directly from their speeches:

“I truly care about our school and every single one of you.”
“I want to make our school even more fun and welcoming… because school should be a place where everyone belongs!”
“I’m giving this school my 100 percent. I’m not here to just play the game. I’m here to make sure we all win.”
“I care about our school and community… I think it’s important to support younger students and build a strong future for our schools.”
“We are 694 different students under one name: Chehalis Middle School… and we need to band together and rise up.”
“This is your school, your ideas, and your future—so let’s make it better together.”
“I love this community… I like to attend school events and support Chehalis whenever I can.”
“I want to help make our school a better place for everyone.”

These words are a true testament to the incredible community and families we have here in Chehalis. Our students care deeply, believe in one another, and carry a strong sense of hope for the future of CMS.
We are so proud of their leadership, and excited for what’s ahead!

Community Connections - Estheticians

On Tuesday, March 31st, we had the pleasure of Stefany Henderson and Trinity Underhill from Get Up and Glow Beauty Studio presenting to 7th and 8th-grade students who signed up to attend. Stefany and Trinity are mother-daughter estheticians in Chehalis. They shared about the pathways and specialties within this career as well as the services that estheticians can provide to clients, such as facials, lash lifts, brow shaping/tinting, acne treatments, and microneedling. They shared valuable information about what a typical day is like, the qualities/skills that are important in their business, what they have learned to appreciate the most about the work they do, and how important it is to make sure each client's needs or goals are uniquely considered. We are so thankful they took the time to share their experience with our students!
