Skyward VS ParentSquare
In the Chehalis School District, we use a variety of digital platforms to supplement in-person instruction, provide professional development and keep our families in the know. Here are some important links for Chehalis School District students and families. The two primary platforms families in the Chehalis School District use are Skyward and ParentSquare. Skyward is where you can access useful information while ParentSquare is used as the district’s primary communication system with students and families. All families in our district have access to both systems and should use both systems. This handy guide will help you decide which tool is right for for your use.

- Receive communications from the Chehalis School District, your student’s school & teacher and any specialty groups such as sports teams
- Daily notifications of unexcused student absences or negative meal balances
- Message your student’s teacher or school
- Timely notifications in the event of schedule changes or emergencies
- Sign up for conferences, volunteer opportunities and classroom needs with the touch of a button

- View your student’s current schedule, attendance, grades and missing assignments
- Check your student’s meal account balance and make a payment
- View your family’s contact information – ParentSquare draws contact information from Skyward so make sure we have the right information for you!
- Complete returning student paperwork before the start of each school year
Skyward Family Access
An educational information tool that allows you to access and manage student and family information. Some of the things you can do on Skyward include:
- Update your family’s contact information so that you continue to receive updates from your student’s school
- View your student’s meal account balance
- View your student’s schedule and current grades
- View your student’s attendance statistics for the year
- View important messages from your student’s school and teacher

We’re Moving to Qmlativ
In July 2027, the Chehalis School District will be migrating from Skyward SMS to Qmlativ. Adapting to the ever changing technology landscape, the growing demands for data and data management, and striving to meet the needs of all Skyward software users is the driving force behind Skyward's goal to continuously offer a better user experience and future-ready flexibility.
We’re excited to share Qmlativ with you. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to bringing on this dynamic new student record system.
Alert: Summer 2026 Update Changed Link & App
Skyward Link Change: Links for Skyward login were changed during the 2026 update. CLICK HERE for the new link to log in to Skyward Family Access. If you personally bookmarked Skyward on any device, make sure you update your bookmarks to reflect this new link.
Skyward Mobile App – The Skyward Mobile App will need to be updated to version 3.0 for access now that the upgrade has been completed. For some users, the app will update automatically, some will want to update the app via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store or other applicable app store, some will need to delete the Skyward Mobile App then reinstall it for the update to be applied. Once the app is updated to version 3.0, the users will be able to access their district account.

ParentSquare
The Chehalis School District uses ParentSquare as its primary communication tool. ParentSquare can be accessed at parentsquare.com and you can download the ParentSquare App for free in the Apple iOS or Android stores. ParentSquare offers:
- Two-way translation for messaging
- Ability to post or send videos or photos
- Parents can receive non-emergency messages via text, email or app notification, either instantly or as a single digest message at the end of the day
- Ability to create newsletters, sign-ups and surveys
