ParentSquare FAQs for Families

  • If you have a student in our district and have an account on Skyward Family Access, you will automatically receive ParentSquare messages. If a student has more than one household, both households will automatically receive messages.

    • If you do nothing, you will receive email notifications from ParentSquare. If you would prefer to receive text notifications or app notifications, THIS LINK will show you how.

Our student information system, Skyward, syncs contact information directly with ParentSquare. The contact information listed for you in Skyward is where you will receive ParentSquare communications.

    • If more than one person in your family wants to receive messages from ParentSquare, you must each have a distinctive phone number or email address listed in Skyward Family Access. ParentSquare cannot use the same phone number for more than one person.
  • All Chehalis School District students automatically receive ParentSquare messages through their school issued email address. Students may want to receive ParentSquare messages via text or app notification for participating in some groups on ParentSquare such as the senior class group or sports groups.

    • If a student would prefer to receive ParentSquare messages as texts, they need to add their phone number to Skyward Family Access by talking to their school office or emailing communications@chehalisschools.org
    • If a student would prefer to receive ParentSquare messages as app notifications, they need to download the ParentSquare app and follow the prompts to register their account

  • If you are not listed in Skyward as a student’s primary contact but you need to receive ParentSquare updates (for instance, a family member who provides care for a student, babysitter or someone who is responsible for a student’s transportation), you will need to be manually added to ParentSquare to join. Please send an email to communications@chehalisschools.org and indicate the name and grade of the students you are connected with and we can add you with approval from the student’s guardian.

If you are a community member and you wish to receive publications from the Chehalis School District or any of our schools, send an email to communications@chehalisschools.org to be included on our mailing list.

  • If you have a student in Chehalis Schools but are not receiving ParentSquare messages, you can check:

    1. That you have a Skyward Family Access account. ParentSquare limits those receiving messages for their student to those who are a parent, guardian or emergency contact (with guardian’s permission). We do have mailing lists for those who are not in Skyward but who want to know what’s going on in the Chehalis School District. Email cstanton@chehalisschools.org to be added to our mailing list.
    2. That your contact information in Skyward is correct. ParentSquare receives contact information directly from Skyward, so if your contact information is not correct in Skyward, please correct it with your school’s office. It takes 24 hours for a change in Skyward to show up in ParentSquare
    3. That your notification preferences meet your needs. You may receive notifications via text, app notification or email and also instant (you receive messages as they are sent through the day) or digest (you receive one message with all posts from the day). Here is a helpful article and video about how to set and change your notification settings.

Public Information Officer Carrina Stanton is also happy to help you with any ParentSquare issues you may be having. She can be reached at (360) 807-7200 ext. 8229 or communications@chehalisschools.org.
