Our goal is to establish relationships with families so that students are prepared for the journey ahead. Parenting can be very challenging – we know. Our hope is that Cornerstone can help you navigate the schools – and life, and find community resources to make it a little easier.

The foundation of our program is our staff. DeeDee, Jacey, and Cecilia provide a safe and welcoming environment for Chehalis families.

Come visit us at 2057 Southwest Salsbury Avenue (the Olympic school building)

Drop-ins are welcomed until noon each day school is in session. Contact us to make an afternoon appointment.

Call Cornerstone Staff – We Can Help!

Food Support – We can help connect families with local food resources including support from Chehalis Food Bank, Salvation Army, Food For Our Future, and God’s Portion. Give us a call so we can discuss your needs and help you find resources.

Early Education Support – Cornerstone staff have created individualized learning kits to support Chehalis students and their parents. We also provide scholarships for local pre-schools and local learning programs.

Home and Household Support – Many Chehalis families receive help with clothing, laundry supplies, diapers and other household needs. We can also connect you with furniture, gas vouchers, blankets, and rent assistance. Give us a call!

Mental Health Support – In addition to Cornerstone staff support, we can help you connect with local services at Cascade Mental Health, CORE Health, Community Integrated Health Services, and local private practices.

Parent Education – Our FREE Cornerstone Parent Education nights have become quite popular. In our first year we featured workshops using Love & Logic. Families received dinner and childcare for free! Watch for more information about the 2024-25 school year series.

The kick-off to kindergarten is Kindergarten Registration. In Chehalis, this is a “drive through” event in April at Lintott Elementary. Parents received packets of information designed to help get everything ready to enroll their child online.

Visit our Enrollment & Registration page to enroll your child.

All outgoing AND incoming kindergarteners are invited to our first ever Kindergarten Carnival on July 20, 2024. In partnership with United Way of Lewis County and the Summit Learning Center, the Chehalis School District is sponsoring an interactive time with carnival booth games, resources, and supplies to make early learning fun!

The Kindergarten Carnival will keep learning going for those students who just finished a year in kindergarten. It will also help prepare kids who are getting ready for their first year at school. Call the Cornerstone staff for more information at 360-219-7267

On July 24 and 25, 2024 we are hosting the first ever Kindergarten  Camp. This event is designed to help young learners practice the skills necessary for a successful first year at school. Volunteers will help campers practice large motor skills like running and skipping. Campers will also practice fine motor skills like coloring and cutting with scissors. For more information, call the Cornerstone staff at 360-219-7267.
