Incoming 6th Graders Info
Welcome, Class of 2033!
In the Chehalis School District, we’re preparing students for the journey ahead. In the fall of 2026, the members of the Class of 2033 will officially be middle schoolers! We know this can be an exciting time for students and families and it can also be a time when you have a lot of questions. In this page, you’ll find resources to help you navigate the next three years as CMS Wildcats.

Good to Know
Don’t: Re-Apply Do: Complete Returning Student Forms
If your student attended Chehalis Schools last year and you live in the Chehalis School District boundaries, you do not need to register them again, even when they move to another school building. We do ask that all families complete back to school forms for returning students through Skyward Family Access at THIS LINK. If you need assistance logging into Skyward, message Janis Dobyns at THIS LINK.
Stay Informed with Skyward: Skyward Family Access is the tool our district uses to store family and student data. Once your student reaches middle school, many more of the features of Skyward become available. For example, you can view your student’s:
- Grades and missing assignments
- Attendance (including current day)
- Schedule
- Fines and fees owed
- Completion of graduation requirements
Transportation
If your student will ride the bus:
- CLICK HERE for our transportation page, where you will find helpful information for families of bus riders.
If you plan to drive your student:
- In the morning, CMS students enter from the bus area side only. For student drop off, please enter the CMS parking lot using the driveway closest to the football field and pull through in either one of the two through lanes.
- If your student is tardy, they should enter the school through the main office. A parent or guardian must either call the office or send their student with a note to be excused.
- Students release from all building exits so you may choose a place to meet your student. Please do not drive or park in the bus area before or after school.
- Our parking lots can be very congested right before and right after school, especially on the first day of school. Please plan your commute to observe school zone speed limits of 20 mph on streets and 5 mph in parking lots
