Cornerstone: Supporting Families, Strengthening Communities

Cornerstone, a Washington Student Achievement Council grant-funded initiative, has been renewed for another two years—bringing continued support and vital resources to families navigating the education system.

Rooted in the Chehalis School District, the mission is clear: Preparing Students for the Journey Ahead. To fulfill this mission, the program walks alongside families, helping them understand school systems, navigate educational processes, re-engage with post-secondary opportunities, and access the right resources at the right time. For many, especially those facing challenges or unfamiliar with school structures, this support can be transformative.

Cornerstone provides personalized guidance, advocacy, and encouragement to help families become confident and informed partners in their children’s education. Whether it’s supporting parents at school meetings, translating important information, or simply being there to listen, Cornerstone stands with families every step of the way.

As the program enters its next chapter, Cornerstone remains committed to removing barriers and fostering stronger school/family connections, by building relationships and trust. Over the next two years, it will focus on deepening and expanding its community partnerships to enhance its impact.
