A Message From Superintendent Rick Goble
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chehalis staff and students, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Chehalis School District website.
Having worked alongside the staff of the Chehalis School District for the last 10 years, I am now humbled by the opportunity to serve as Superintendent, beginning in the 2024-25 school year. I am incredibly proud of the students and staff in Chehalis, and equally proud of the supportive relationship we have with so many community members.
The mission of CSD, in partnership with the community, is to meet the individual learning needs of students by providing a comprehensive student-centered educational program that inspires and prepares them to become responsible, contributing citizens.
Focused on supporting every child at every grade, we begin early, supporting families, and parents of preschoolers. At James Lintott Elementary and Orin Smith Elementary, we begin unveiling the unique talents and strengths within each young mind. We help students build a solid foundation – recognizing and nurturing their abilities.
At Chehalis Middle School, the journey continues as students explore their areas of interest and the vast array of career fields that await them. As students grow and mature, our commitment deepens, guiding students to map out their career paths and needed training aligned with their strengths and abilities. Students have different opportunities to explore pathways at W. F. West High School, or through less traditional pathways such as our alternative school, Turning Point and our Student Support life and career skills VISIONS Program. Our goal is to prepare and support 100% of our students by cultivating their interests, unlocking their full potential, and guiding them as they align their skills, talents and purpose with career pathways.
We are working to ensure that, by the high school graduating class of 2035, 75% of all W.F. West High School graduates will earn the credentials they need to be responsible, contributing citizens. We call this effort, “75 by 35.”
However, we also recognize that some graduates will choose pathways that may not require a credential. We recognize in the remaining 25% there will be future graduates who choose to be stay at home parents, missionaries, volunteer workers, entrepreneurs, family business workers, and a multitude of other pathways.
We want our tagline of, “Preparing Students for the Journey Ahead” to be more than just words. We want it to change the trajectory of our students’ lives, impacting our community in positive ways.
I urge you to explore this website, follow us on Facebook and Instagram and to sign up for our mailing list to find out how the Chehalis School District is preparing students for the journey ahead.
