W.F. West High School students were fortunate to have a panel of outstanding law enforcement officers share their expertise with students who may be exploring this career path. Students had the opportunity to meet Lieutenant John Matagai from the Washington State Patrol, Chief Dusty Breen from Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, and Officer Jeff Fithen from the City of Chehalis Police Department. These professionals answered questions, gave advice, and encouraged nearly 70 W.F. West High School students who attended this recent event.

Events like this are part of the Student Achievement Initiative with a Career and College Readiness focus. Chehalis School District’s goal is for graduates to be career prepared and successfully obtain a meaningful certificate or college degree post-graduation. Aware, eligible and prepared = ready.
